Whenever social media marketing guru and NYC-based artist Eric Ho unveils a new 3D printable design, there’s a decent chance that the product will involve a short, stout, and unfathomably cute breed of dog. Last year, the 3D artist created an adorable 3D printed Corgi bottle opener/keychain, which was an extremely popular addition to his Shapeways storefront, called Raw Legends Collaborations. His store includes a number of collaborative projects, as he’s constantly working with other artists and designers to transform animals into strangely delightful creatures. In the past, Ho has even designed a 3D print of illustrator Sophie Corrigan’s art that morphed a Pug with a potato—which she of course named the Pugtato— so he’s certainly capable of transforming even the cutest dog into a wildly hybridized and anthropomorphic creature.
That’s exactly what Ho did with his new 3D printed collection of cosplaying French Bulldogs, which were created in collaboration with experienced UK-based 3D artist Matt Bagshaw. Ho and Bagshaw have conjured up eight Frenchie figurines, currently available in Ho’s Raw Legends Collaborations store, that are personified with pop culture and superheroes in mind. Bagshaw himself has over 20 years of experience in commercial character art and animation, and has been creating 3D printable characters for over two years. Ho, who previously worked as the social media strategist at Shapeways, started Raw Legends Collaborations in order to partner up with well-respected artists within the realm of 3D design and 3D printing. The French Bulldog collection contains a handful pun-infused puppy names, including:

The cosplaying French Bulldog figurines are available in full color sandstone material, offering customers a finely detailed figure that can represent their undying love for both dogs and action movies simultaneously. I’m personally moved by Mr. T Frenchie, as I was always a fan of the A-Team when I was a younger lad, yet each of the Frenchie figures are distinct and take on a personality of their own. Each 3D printed cosplaying French Bulldog costs $25 in Shapeways’ Full Color Sandstone, and $30 for their more polished Coated Full Color Sandstone. This isn’t the first time Ho has experimented with this breed of dog; the Raw Legends Collaborations shop also features a group of Minion Frenchies, a Bull Dog Buddha, an iPad holder, and more.
The idea behind the cosplaying puppies was previously explored by Ho in the form of a Corgi breed towards the end of 2015, when he unveiled a number of figures including Thorgi, Corgi of the Opera, Corgi Potter, and a handful of other humorous and unique 3D printed figures. In addition to his recent work with Bagshaw, Ho has also collaborated with a handful of other 3D designers and artists featured on his Shapeways store, including Manuel Poehlau, Kostika Spaho , Corretta Singer, Andrew Thomas, and Vitaliy Burov. As someone with the knowledge behind Shapeways’ operations, Ho has been able to capitalize on their high-quality printing services and expanding consumer base. Although Ho seems to have a strange attachment to French Bulldogs, Corgis, and Pugs, he’s also personified a number of other creatures into figurines, and has collaborated to create jewelry, bottle openers, and other assorted animal-based accessories.
